The Meadows Center for Opportunity was established in 1983 for the sole purpose of employing adults with developmental disabilities. It has been our privilege to work with many different men and women through the years, and we are honored that some of these individuals are still working with us, more than three decades later.
PRESCRIPTION PILL BOTTLE DESTRUCTIONS
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires that all patient medical records be handled with utmost security to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
HIPAA regulations prevent casual disposal of pharmacy pill bottles, requiring instead that these bottles, which carry patient information, must be physically destroyed, or shredded. However, when faced with data destruction services that do not accept pill bottles, some pharmacies choose to ignore HIPAA regulations by simply dumping their pill bottles rather than purchasing an expensive pill bottle shredder.
Maintain HIPAA Compliance
Fortunately, the Meadows makes it easy for pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes, and other medical facilities to maintain HIPAA compliance through our pharmacy pill bottle shredding service.
The Meadows Center for Opportunity, Inc., is a member of the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), and we practice HIPAA-compliant methods of destruction of pharmacy pill bottles. Our affiliations and compliance mean that you can rest assured that your data destruction methods meet governmental regulations and that your patients’ privacy will not be compromised.
